We Need You!
Would you like to help the PTO but do not know where to start? We have plenty of opportunities to volunteer, regardless of whether you have 10 minutes to spare or 10 hours! Some opportunities require work at home, while others require your assistance at school events. Whatever you are able to give, we have something for you!

Encourage families to sign up to bring staff a little bit of sunshine throughout the year

Coordinate when garden cleaning takes place
Assist in finding plant and supply donors

Volunteer Recognition
The PTO understands that volunteers work selflessly to make LWES a great school for the staff, students, and families. Each month, the PTO tries to recognize a volunteer “For the outstanding demonstration of your commitment, time, and energy.” Thank you to our volunteers from 2019!

MD State and HCPSS Required Volunteer Trainings
Thank you for your interest in volunteering within the Howard County School System! We value our volunteers and the contributions they make to our students and schools. According to HCPSS Board Policy, all parent volunteers must complete a Confidentiality Training Course as well as a Child Abuse Training course.
The Confidentiality Training Course takes about 5 minutes to complete.
The MD State Law and HCPSS 1030 Powerpoint for Child Abuse Training takes about 5 minutes to complete.
